Our Review
For years, Disability:IN has fought for the inclusion of people with disabilities in business across America. The initiative started with government contracting and now includes over 200 corporations.
Amongst many other initiatives and programs built to aid disabled persons gain access to different professional opportunities, the organization certifies disability owned businesses including service-disabled and veteran disability-owned businesses. Once certified, these enterprises gain access to corporations seeking to diversify their procurement processes.
The nonprofit organization provides assistance to DOBEs across the nation through its central office and over 27 affiliates spread across the country. Members benefits include networking events with business matchmaking opportunities.
Disability:IN is determined to see an economy where people with disabilities are able to participate fully. Their supplier diversity initiative is helping them realise this vision as more corporations join each year and spend money with suppliers certified by the organisation.
Disability: IN Says:
“We certify disability-owned business enterprises, including service-disabled and veteran disability-owned businesses, and link them to organizations seeking to diversify their supply chains. We know how important it is for corporate and government buyers and other decision-makers to have ready access to suppliers who have met the stringent test of certification, both disability and business structure. We also strongly encourage DOBE-to-DOBE purchasing. Our hope is that this tool will significantly enhance the utilization of certified DOBEs and SDV-DOBEs because of its design, efficiency, and overall usability.”
